Spring 1080 A.D.: End of Season
- Immin the Scribe will
need to work for the Stamford Bridge
Covenant this season. Stamford Bridge Covenant was bought as an ally
that would help only 5% of the time. Paulus has already provided
healing for the Northumbria covenant. Any more requests would strain
the alliance. Also, Stamford Bridge also needs to use their own texts
for their studying. Immin does get to practice his skill Scribe Latin,
but gains no experience for it (I rolled a 2 for his Practice). Using
his Social Contacts, he finds that there is a covenant in London with
an extensive library. Next season he can make a trip there as part of
an adventure.
- Olive the Assistant is so
swamped dealing with the one or two nosy visitors that come to the
covenant each day, that she just can't get away from those duties. (If
she did, the magi would have to take study penalties for the
interruptions.) Many of the visitors are traders from Scandinavia and
Europe who sail into the harbor to rest for the night. Since the
sailors have lots of knowledge of the local area, she gains two
experience points in Yorkshire Lore
(personalities).
- At Snorri's request, Haki the
Blacksmith is working on an exquisite longsword. In addition to
his other smith duties needed for construction, this will take the
entire season. Fortunately, unlike his master Snorri, he suffers no
penalty for working during the day. Haki
grudgingly asks Richard the Outlaw
how he'd like the sword decorated. He rolls a 5 for practicing his
Craft (weapons) and gains no experience.
- Geoffrey of Caen is
making silver decorations for Haki's longsword. In addition he as
crafted 20 tiny bells out of silver. His work, along with
Haki's, consumes 1£ silver. He gains no experience for his
practice.
- Snorri draws 3 Vim vis out of the covenant's aura and
places them in three of the tiny silver bells.
- Tristan succumbs to his
wanderlust and goes traveling. He must have found a number of very
interesting things as he returns with 2 experience points in Legend Lore (England).
- The Mercenaries gain 2 xp
in Speak Anglo Saxon. They also practice their Crossbow skill but gain
no experience.
- Efferus spends so much
time watching Cearl that he picks up 3 experience points in Awareness.
- To keep the covenant from starving, some of the grogs have
changed careers to Farmers.
- The covenant spends 50£ silver to rebuild the burned down
labs. The rebuilt labs will be ready for the Summer 1080 season. Snorri gives up the use of a lab for
Spring 1080 but will move his workshop into a new lab for Summer 1080.
- Magnus handles the trade
of 3 Auram vis to the Stamford Bridge Covenant in exchange for the 3
Corpus vis (in the form of wheat).
- Walter the Diplomat gains
2 xp in Northumbria Lore during his dealings with the locals.
- Osred the Seer gains 2xp
in Northumbria Lore from exposure and practices his Visions gaining 1
xp there.
- Jawsa gains 2xp in
Northumbria Lore (geography). He also trains Sebbi in Chirurgy.
- Sebbi picks up 3 xp being
taught Chirurgy (bind wounds) from Jawsa.
- Melyon begins learning Wizards Communion, MuVi20 and gains
14 of the 20 study points needed to learn it.
- Richard the Outlaw gains
1 xp for Speak Anglo Saxon. He also trains Hoel (+2xp), Loe (+2xp) and Vortimer (+2xp) in Shield and Weapon
(short sword).
