Jagata (prounounced Yah'-guh-tah) and Gryjta (Greesh'-ta?) are sisters and seamstresses from Cottbus. They have been doing some of the plain sewing for one of the seamstresses who was working on the uniforms but are capable of more.
Jagata felt the other seamstress was not letting them do some of the choice parts of the work (which would have paid them more money) nor allowing them to come to the notice of the people from Schwartzburg. The young women have decided to strike out on their own and try to work directly with the covenant.
Jagata (the older by two years, at 19) is ambitious and has visions of designing elaborate garments for the magi.
Gryjta does well at detailed sewing and also does embroidery. She generally has a pleasant disposition and is going along because this is what Jagata wants.
