Zigmunt is the son of Ada the Baker and Zdzisław the Stonemason. He grew up in the covenant. Brigands kidnapped him, his mother and his sister, Adrianna.
After being rescued from the bandits, he has been apprenticed to the Italian glass maker, Maffeo fu de Lucca, and works in the covenant's glass shop in Cottbus. In spite of his carefree personality and wanderlust, he is a satisfactory apprentice.
